For low GI sweetness without the sugar spikes! ✨
Our new 85% cacao is made with very small pieces of real dates - this difference is crucial when comparing to other 'sugars' because the dates still include fibre. And fibre is what helps balance out the sugar in our body, preventing blood sugar spikes, and making it lower on the glycemic index (GI) than other types of sugars, including honey and coconut sugar.
Dates are also much lower in calories than regular sugar and have far less fructose than agave and honey (so the taste is less 'sweet'). Because they are simply ground whole dried fruit, they also contain all the fruit’s nutrients — vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

What should I look for in high quality chocolate / cacao? - +
Chocolate that has been artisanally made, minimally processed, and without industrial ingredients like soy lecithin, vegetable fats and emulsifiers is what you want to look for (which ours is of course).
WHAT IS SINGLE ORIGIN? - +
Single-origin is chocolate that’s made from one variety of cacao bean, harvested from one area.
There are some great blended chocolates out there, confectioned by master chocolatiers. But for most chocolate, a whole mixed bag of beans is used from different places, making it very difficult to trace, and then heated to high temperatures so that the cacao flavour (and nutrients) are dulled, and all the beans taste the same.

Our artisans don't just remelt and remould chocolate made by someone else, they start from scratch: from buying the beans directly from the farm and grinding them on site: bringing you the freshest and most traceable chocolate possible.
