Popcorn Matcha is our take on the traditional Japanese tea, genmaicha: a blend of sencha green tea and roasted rice. We've elevated it with premium ceremonial-grade matcha, creating a smooth, vibrant latte with rich umami, delicate green tea notes and a naturally toasty, popcorn-like finish.

The matcha brings depth and creaminess, while the roasted rice softens the profile with comforting, nutty notes. The result is less bitter than a traditional matcha, yet every bit as satisfying.

How to make: Whisk 2g with hot water, then enjoy with your favourite milk, hot or iced. Plant-based milks like oat or coconut taste best with this blend. Can also be enjoyed as a pure tea, just topped with hot water.

Organic ceremonial-grade matcha
Our first-flush ceremonial-grade matcha is organically grown in Japan. Only approximately 10% of Japanese tea production is certified organic, making high-quality organic matcha especially difficult to source.

Does blended matcha mean lower quality?

Many flavoured matcha products use lower-grade matcha and rely on artificial or "natural" flavourings to mask bitterness or create flavour.

We take a different approach. Every blend starts with the same premium, first-flush ceremonial-grade organic matcha. We never use artificial or "natural" flavourings. Instead, we create each blend using only real Japanese ingredients, carefully selected to complement the matcha, not cover it up.
Where is your matcha sourced?

The matcha in our Popcorn Matcha is single origin from Kyushu, Japan. The matcha in our Jasmine and Spiced Maple Matcha blends is single origin from Shizuoka, Japan. Every other ingredient is also sourced from Japan.

Not all matcha sold by Japanese companies is grown in Japan. Some tea is imported before being processed or packed there, which can make the true origin unclear to consumers. We only use matcha grown in Japan, with full traceability back to its region of origin.
Why do you use organic matcha?

Do you test for heavy metals?

Yes. Every batch is lab tested for heavy metals for added peace of mind.
What does the colour tell me about quality?

Pure high quality matcha is naturally vibrant green. However our blends also contain other finely ground ingredients (roasted rice powder, cinnamon etc), so this alters the colour. This reflects the recipe, not the quality of the matcha.
What does the price tell me about its quality?

Because our blends are not 100% matcha, the price is naturally lower than a pouch of pure ceremonial matcha, without compromising on the quality of the matcha we use. Each blend is made with premium ceremonial-grade matcha, paired with carefully selected ingredients to create a distinct flavour profile.
